Would Chief Seattle Call This Betrayal?
"Every part of this earth is sacred to my people...When the buffalo are all slaughtered, the wild horses all tamed, the secret corners of the forest heavy with the scent of many men, and the view of the ripe hills blotted by talking wires. Where is the eagle? Gone. Where is the buffalo? Gone. And what is it to say goodbye to the swift and the hunt, the end of living ..." Chief Seattle

that is so sad. but i agree with him!
it is quite amazing how well he predicted the future and how it turned out. Its a shame.. ive never seen a live buffalo in my entire life. There is practically no "true" wild horses in the wild. They are all pretty much decended from the Spanish herds or pre-tamed horses. They are still beautiful to watch.. but now even they're popluations are being deminished. I myself am part Cherokee so i know where Chief Seattle is coming from. Thanks for posting Mrs. Farley

Down my road there actually are a few buffalo that got rescued from the wild. One I got to watch be born who I named Annie actually escaped the sanctuary and came to my house. My dad tried to round her up with the cattle and then he ried it with the horses. But when he got on the 4-wheeler and tried, she charged at him and I came on my horse,HasLem and just roped her. it was soo funny! But it turns out that she was about to calve. It was Valentine's day and I named her calf Valentino ha-ha. :) My family now owns Valentino, and Annie's doing good...
