Update from Phoenix
Elyse Gardner photo of Deniz Bolbol, speaking out for wild horses at an earlier meetingOn the spot observation from BLM advisory board meeting in Phoenix:
"They [BLM] are saying IF congress doesn't give their budget increase they will not roundup for the rest of this fiscal year (which ends sept 30). The senate appropriations committee last Friday put in the $12m increase requested.
"It appears BLM is using this 'no more roundups' threat with congress and it's an uphill battle to defeat this budget increase in the senate, Deniz Bobol, Wild Horse Preservation.
We must keep the legislature from handing over the blood money on BLM's wish list.
It might not be easy, but we're up to making our voices heard.
