Today's Special

Dear Readers,
I've been talking with the Washington, D.C. and Reno offices of both Senator Ensign (the Nevada senator who introduced Anti-Horse Slaughter bill 1915) and Senator Reid, asking what the chances are the bill will be voted on before the Senate leaves on a holiday break.
I'll let you know as soon as possible.
More than ever, I hope this bill passes because I keep thinking of the real Phantom. He's a 17 year old stallion and you know that means he'd be unlikely to be adopted, If he hadn't had human friends, he could well have gone to slaughter.
The Wild Horse Preservation League has a complete European menu on its website and one item will probably hit you as hard as it did me:

2. Kr.3.350.-
Fish terrine on a bed of salad with chive sauce.
Panfried filet of foal with wild mushroom sauce.
Apple cake with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Have a good weekend and if you haven't yet let your Senator know how you feel, please do it now!
Terri
