Paper, pencil -- GO!
Dear Readers,
Legend has it that Hemingway was once challenged to write a story in only six words. His response?
For sale: baby shoes, never worn.
Very sad.
Last year, SMITH Magazine asked readers for their own six-word memoirs (life memories, story of your life...). They sent in SO MANY short life stories, the magazine's editors have published a book titled from one of the memoirs. It's called NOT QUITE WHAT I WAS PLANNING.
If you feel inspired,to try this yourself, you might want to check out their website & you might be published, too.
http://www.smithmag.net/sixwords/Warning : this is an addictive "game" to play alone, but do yourself a favor & don't try it during a class, at work and for sure
not while you're riding a challenging horse!
Samples: Never really finished anything, except cake.
Found true love, married someone else.
Scarred by 911; helped by penguins
One tooth, one cavity, life’s cruel.
I still make coffee for two.
Have fun!
