MUSTANG RALLY ON CNN
(cut and paste into your browser if link doesn't work...it's tricking me)
No mention of the horses being stampeded onto private ranches, then on to the private facility, also surrounded by a private ranchy where the press and public are NOT welcome.
And it's almost unbelievable that BLM Director Bob Abbey, a Nevada guy, would say the snow those horses are running on is soft! I rode that land on a cattle drive and those hillsides are really, truly, covered with shale the size of dinner plates. I can't imagine going down it at a gallop (with something chasing you!) over snow and ice.
Talk with you all later!

>:/ If removing them is necessary for their 'survival,' how come non-producing herds have been mentioned before? Those don't 'survive' for very many generations...
And they ignore the fact that a lot of people don't have the money to adopt a horse. They're seeming to ignore the whole downturned economy, and they're spending our money however they want: money that WE could use to adopt the horses. But instead they use it to round up more horses that we can't adopt...
And the horses that are so injured that they have to be put down were probably not injured as badly, if at all, before they started their mad gallop. A horse injured on the range like that BEFORE the gather wouldn't be able to make that run, period. So any horses that would have to be put down would be ones that the BLM injured themselves. How's that for 'survival'?

Ugh Bob Abbey is such a liar! I can't believe it! How selfish. They aren't "helping" the mustangs, their just taking them of the range to get them out of their hair..when they are doing nothing at all.
