Big news on real Phantom & family

Dear Readers,
I have loads of real Phantom & family news for you, today.
First, the wild mare Shy has really earned her name! She was so careful about keeping humans away from her foal that they guessed wrong on the baby's gender!
He's a colt, not a filly!
Everyone was surprised, but even experts can be fooled when a wild mare stands between the world and her baby!
How will this effect the contest to name the young mustang? Hardly at all -- the panel is still mulling over all the wonderfulentries sent by PHANTOM STALLION readers! The colt's coat is staying black so far, too.
Speaking of color, the Phantom will have a "rainbow harem" when he's set free in the Wild Horse Sanctuary. In addition to bay Shy and white Lily (the colt's favorite auntie), the Phantom has a new palomino mare he likes a lot. And, last Thursday, the Phantom added a "strikingly beautiful black mare" to his band.
All three new mares have . My fingers are crossed that I can talk with their former owners, then share those stories with you.
Owners??? Yes, just like my fictional Dark Sunshine, these mares were adopted as adult horses and had trouble adjusting to captivity. Due to their caring adopters, though, they'll be enjoying the next best thing to freedom when they're released, along with the Phantom, into the huge northern California sanctuary.
Happy trails,
Terri
