Dear Dedicated Horse Activists,

Today the United States House of Representatives PASSED the Restore Our American Mustangs (ROAM) Act (H.R. 1018). This historic bill ensures the continued protection of wild horses and burros that roam America’s public lands from senseless slaughter and commercial sale. HR 1018 also prohibits the euthanizing of healthy wild horses and burros.

This is a huge victory for horses and it would not have been possible without the amazing work of wonderful horse advocates like you!! Your tireless calls and work on this issue, has provided a great triumph today! We will keep you updated as HR 1018 continues to move through Congress.

We should all take great pride in this enormous success and continue the fight to protect our American horses in Congress.

  What about Spanish Mustangs? Do they roam the range with the others?
  Oh Wow! this is SO GREAT! This is what everyone's been working at since I was in year 9! :D I still remember when you started up the heart for horses program. I'm so relieved the bill is back and horses are safe again :D, now we gotta save these poor lil foals!

  Fingers crossed that this IS the turning point for the horses. I'm a bit tense until it passes the second house of Congress -- the Senate.
There's another vote coming and some outsiders are calling this "wild horse welfare" even though it would actually save money.
