Fingers Crossed
Dear Readers,
"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has."
-- Margaret Mead
This morning a lawsuit was filed against the Dept. of Agriculture to keep the Secretary from hiring foreign horse meat inspectors.
I'll be posting more details later. I hope the lawsuit alerts the President and Secretary of Agriculture that we hate them making an end run around the will of the American people and Congress.
In honor of the horses who've already died, you might want to visit this link
http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=1867401and listen to the radio story about Ferdinand, the 1986 Kentucky Derby winner-- "a famously gentle and playful old champion" slaughtered for his meat at age 19.
Thanks for your help,
Terri
