ANGELS for HORSES
Dear Readers,
I told you the real Phantom had friends. I've mentioned some of them (and others) by name before, but I hope you'll take a second look and see that every little thing you can do for a cause you believe in -- is important! Lots of little acts of kindness add up to great accomplishments!
Most of the notes below are from Bonnie Matton -- so double thanks to her.
NAN PEARSON - STARTED CONTACTING PEOPLE IN THE PHANTOM'S AREA OF DAYTON WHEN SHE HEARD WE HAD TO SEND MONEY FOR THE PHANTOM'S CARE.
CAROL JOHNSON - WENT DOOR-TO-DOOR IN THE AREA ASKING PEOPLE FOR DONATIONS. TOGETHER, NAN AND CAROL COLLECTED (IN LESS THAN ONE WEEK!!!) $1500.
LACY J, DALTON - FANTASTIC SINGER ("Last Wild Place" is my favorite cd of hers!), WILD HORSE ADVOCATE and HEAD OF LET 'EM RUN FOUNDATION WHICH MADE A MAJOR CONTRIBUTION TO THE PHANTOM & SHY'S CARE.
AMBER BROOKFIELD IS THE OWNER OF 'RAIN CLOUD.' HER MOTHER,
MARGARET, HAS THE PROPERTY WHERE THE COLT LIVES. PHANTOM AND HIS SMALL BAND USED TO VISIT THEIR HORSES WHENEVER THEY WERE IN THE 'NEIGHBORHOOD.'
SHIRLEY ALLEN (LEAST RESISTANCE TRAINING CONCEPTS) - ONCE SHE FOUND OUT THAT PHANTOM WAS CAUGHT, IMMEDIATELY WENT TO WORK TO GET HIM TO HER PLACE AND BE RESPONSIBLE FOR TRANSPORTING HIM AND SHY TO CALIFORNIA.
MIKE HOLMES (DEPT. OF AGRICULTURE) - CALLED BONNIE MATTON TO SAY HE HAD QUITE A FEW CALLS OF PHANTOM BEING DOWN IN THE SANTA MARIA SUBDIVISION, AND WOULD HAVE TO PICK HIM UP AND WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO RE-RELEASE HIM THIS TIME. MIKE SAID HE WOULD HOLD THEM SEPARATELY UNTIL WILD HORSE PRESERVATION LEAGUE COULD COME UP WITH SOMETHING.
BONNIE MATTON PRESIDENT OF WILD HORSE PRESERVATION LEAGUE IMMEDIATELY EMAILED/CALLED ALL LEAGUE MEMBERS AND WILD HORSE CONTACTS TO SEE WHAT WE COULD COME UP WITH - BOTH FOR FINANCES AND A SANCTUARY
PALOMINO - WORKS/VOLUNTEERS AT THE WILD HORSE SANCTUARY, JUST HAPPENED TO BE IN THE PHANTOM'S NEIGHBORHOOD VISITING FRIENDS. SHE MET NAN, FELL IN LOVE WITH PHANTOM AND CONTACTED DIANNE NELSON!
DIANNE NELSON -- OWNER OF THE WILD HORSE SANCTUARY IN SHINGLETOWN, CA., ACCEPTED THE PHANTOM AND SHY AS NEW MEMBERS OF THE SANCTUARY FAMILY AND WAS THE FIRST TO TELL ME SHE WAS DOING IT WITH A CALL THAT BEGAN, "BECAUSE OF THAT STALLION IN YOUR BOOKS, I HAD TO CALL YOU..."
