Dear Readers,
Now that North Dakota is using state money to explore the possibility of opening a horse slaughter house, Montana and Wyoming are doing the same.
Here's the story:

Associated Press
HELENA, Mont. (AP) A Montana legislator is sponsoring a bill that would clear the way for a horse slaughterhouse in the state, if investors want to build one.

The United States no longer has a slaughterhouse where horses are processed, but there are facilities in Canada and Mexico that receive U.S. horses.

Republican legislator Ed Butcher of Lewistown says doing the work stateside makes more sense. He says that would help people who need to dispose of horses, and would strengthen Montana's economy.

The Humane Society of the United States finds the Butcher bill a bad idea.

The measure will be up for a hearing in a House committee Thursday.

A bill being considered in North Dakota would designate money to study the possible opening of a horse slaughterhouse there. In Wyoming, the House has given preliminary approval to a measure requesting Congress not interfere with shipment and slaughter of unwanted horses.

A bill pending in Congress would prohibit transporting across U.S. borders horses that would be killed for meat. That would remove Canada and Mexico as slaughter destinations.

(and Ideas on how to make them realize slaughter is EVIL?)
Mis Terri, do you know how to contact them? We SHOULD start a petition and I for one am all for it! I'll sign my name to ANY petition to stop horseslaughter.

Let's start a petition! Who agrees?

I hope the slaughter houses are eliminated completely. Here is a recipe to try out on y'alls horses if ya want. =0)

Oatmeal Molasses Cookies

2cups brown-sugar oatmeal (dry)
half-cup grated carrots
3 tablespoons molasses
half cup of brown sugar

Combine all these ingrediants. Add enough water into soft dough. Stir well. Put into oven on 365 degrees until the cookies are golden brown and crisp.

My friend's horses liked them and I hope yours will to.

*Speak for a world that cannot speak for itself.. the world of horses.

  that totally stinks.
It sounds like our legislators are paying attention.
See my news bulletin!
Right now, the best thing to do would be to find out your Senators' names so you can write and tell them to please support ANTI-slaughter bills!
