RESCUED Hidden Valley Horses

RENO, NV These are a few of the 125 wild horses rescued
from death at the hands of kill-buyers at Nevada Livestock Marketing in Fallon,
NV. The Nevada Department of Agriculture authorized the sale of the horses
after capturing them in a pen baited with with the
cooperation of the property owners.
Shannon Windle, president of
Hidden Valley Wild Horse Protection Fund, explains that after the horses are
trapped, the Department of Agriculture hauls them to the prison in Carson City where they
are branded, micro-chipped and the stallions are castrated. They are then taken
to the auction where they are sold to the highest bidder. There are no
restrictions on what happens to the horses after they are sold. Windle and
other advocates are not allowed access to the horses during this time to
photograph them in order to begin the process of getting them adopted.
“This practice is wrong,
unethical and represents the policy of a department that has openly stated it
does not want the horses under their departmental responsibility and that has
no interest in managing them”, states Windle.

Thanks for using my photos of some of these horses rescued by Hidden Valley Wild Horse Protection.
We need to get them freed from ill management by NDoA! Our wild horses deserve protections & humane considerations.
